Default Odd Problem.....

Ok, first let me say that I've had my bike for a month, and it has a total of 86 miles on it......that being said, I've had a problem, twice, where it seems like it's running on 1 cylinder. Did it the day I brought it home (dealer delivered) and yesterday. Now, you may be thinking that the ETMS is enabled and doing it's thing, that is disabled, and both times it had this problem, the bike was in a 1/2 warm condition after a warmup at idle.....in another words, bike was warmed up to normal operating idle speed, then shut down for a while and restarted. After bike is shutdown for awhile(nearly cool)it will run normal. Been for a couple of rides and stop for bite to eat, and get back on it and it's fine....maybe just doesn't like idling in my driveway!!

Anyone else had or heard of this problem? Questions, comments?

Regards, John

I thought mine was doing that yesterday... From cold, start, let it run a minute, then putt out of my neighborhood to the FM road, on the FM road it is 45mph limit, so I had the cruise set (ticket avoidance system) at 45, 5th gear, 2000ish rpms and it sounded like I was getting chain lash, or, if you've ever driven a truck, what it sounds like when the splitter doesn't catch going to the high side..

If I rolled on and put it under load, it stopped.

Pulled into the store 3 miles up the road, left it running in neutral and I could hear it if I was easy on the throttle to about 2k and let her off.

I decided to ride it to the dealer.

When I came out of the store, it ran perfect, no noise.

Later I checked the PV2 and there was a code, don't remember exactly what it was, but something like "no combustion, front cylinder", and I cleared it, to see if it comes back.

You got a code on your PV-2, but not a check engine light? When it did this the first time, I freaked and called the dealer, service guy asked if had check engine light, when I said no, he didn't act too concerned....

Never saw a light, and I've been driving trucks for 28 years, pretty **** about watching gauges.

If it happens again, I'm riding today, I'll take a pic of the code.

Did yours sound like I tried to describe??

The more I think about it, the more it could have been "knocking" from lack of firing...

I have had no issues on my 14.

Plug wires seated good? On my 10 had a plug wire that fit a little loose. I am not diagnosing anything just a random thought.

At 2000rpm I downshift to a lower gear.
