What have you paid for the dealership to do the Stage 1 flash ? I have to do the 1000 Mile service and going to install the Vance &Hines Twin Slash Slip on's so was thinking about doing the flash then this way I would be all set if and when I change the AC .
the dealer flash does very little...it is still EPA compliant and bike will be very lean. do a search on xied's here on the forum-lots of people are happy with them and they are like a $100 and plug and play. i think they are made in florida. DK customs had a nice post on the various tuners just a few days ago. or contact DK custom products--they are a sponsor on here. nearly anything will be better than a download from the dealer.

I believe its about 100/150 I dunno as I built it into my purchase
Do not waste your money on a tuner or anything else. Unless you are going to change your cams which really is un necessary. Do not let anyone talk you into any of that stuff, every dealer, every tech told me its NOT necessary
Do yourself a favor, get the ac first, do the flash, then later get the slip ons. Doing the flash is useless with no extra air coming in
My dealer charged me $300 labor to install the new A/C, Slip-on mufflers and stage one download. Might have been high, on the other hand they did a great job so I am happy.

xied's are not really a tuner...they plug into the O2 sensors and tell the ecm that the bike is running too lean and a little more fuel is added to the mixture(closed loop/low speed only). this cools the motor down some. you need to get the catalytic converter removed from the exhaust pipe--might not need the slip-ons after this and you and your passenger's right foot and leg will be much cooler. without the restrictive flow thru the converter, many people are happy with the sound of the stock mufflers. try that before you buy the slip-ons.
the dealer stage 1 download is worthless. you need to remove the catalytic converter and install something real simple like xied's...your motor and you will be much cooler. add an a/c and different mufflers and you are still good to go with the xied's and no other tuner. my dealer installed xied's on my '12 and an exhaust pipe with the converter removed that i bought off craigslist for a $100. total labor was less than $200 for exhaust pipe and xied's. bike is still running good at 42k. i added a set of wards cooling fans a few months ago--you should consider that since you live where it gets pretty hot in the summer.
