Default 4.5" Wind Splitter

Just completed my on line order with Kutter H-D for the short, 4.5" Wind Splitter for my FLHX. I have the 7" and it works . . . too good ! Now that we are getting into our 100 degree days here in TX, I find the need for a shorter shield so I get air flow into the top, forward vent on my full coverage helmet. Now we'll get to see just how long it takes Kutter and company to ship.

Yup, with in 10 days time. And that included the 4th of July weekend. Great having it in this TX heat.

100° wind is not going to cool you down. Anything over 92f the wind chill factor reverses, sort of like a convection oven. Actually, exactly like a convection oven.

hows the buffeting with the 4.5 compared to your 7? I have a 7 right now and would love a 4.5 if it worked.

I am considering a windsplitter myself but not sure which size to get or if a klockwerks flare would be better. I like the stock shield for local rides but if we are gonna do a trip I am thinking a taller shield would be best? I am 5'9"

Got Helmet ? I ride with a full coverage helmet. The re-curve on the 7" wind splitter shoved the air stream over the top of my helmet resulting in no air flow into the frontal vent of the helmet. I now have a constant stream of air flowing through the helmet with out having to rise up on the floor boards.

No buffeting for me at 70/75 on the interstate. But then again I am only 5'5". I also like the fact that I can see more of the pavement in front of the bike. For some reason, skunks and racoons seem to enjoy dieing right in the tire track portion of the lane I'm riding in. And on grayish black asphalt to boot. That may be the lesser of evils vs the pavement issues I keep reading about elsewhere.
