Sounds like what I was experiencing, my dealer found the cause by accident. They first thought that putting on a new belt and front sprocket would fix it, but when they went to install the new front sprocket, the senior tech thought that there was slightly too much play in the spindle. So, they ordered new transmission output shaft bearings, installed them, noticed normal amount of play, and the noise was gone and never returned.

I have a basically brand-new Motherwell solo rack, gloss black, with fender rear bolt/screw. Don't need it any longer. Save you a lot of money over buying a new one. PM me if interested.
Do any of you guys have experience of the Motherwell rack and the HD one (for comparison)?
The reason I ask is Im looking at an FXBB and would want to run a solo rack and a sissy bar (probably the HD tall one unless you guys have a better suggestion?).
The Motherwell rack uses the 3 x seat mounting points whereas the HD one uses the same mounting points as the sissy bar. I think in either case both racks will work fine with the sissy bar (as they are narrower than the fender so it wont matter if the sissy bar and rack overlap a bit - if you see what I mean) so Im curious as to which is the best.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
Thanks.

The Motherwell rack is top notch also.
Did my 1000 mile check up and the tech felt my belt was too tight and said that HD came out with new specs. They also did something to my brake pads which I wish they didn't do because if it solves it I won't know which one it was for real. I really don't think it was the pads though. I'll keep this updated when I can get a long ride in. Weather is not agreeing with biking lately.

Was this the first 1000 miles? Shouldn't need pads at 1K, should you?
