I hear the same thing on my 2018 FLHCS. Jacked it up and spun both wheels to make sure I didn't have a bad bearing. Both front and rear seemed fine and I heard nothing from the calipers. Living with it for now.

Mine just came back from the dealer for a rocker box leak and third attempt since new to fix this noise, or rather not fix. Two belts, brake pads front wheel bearings same noise, early on in this thread people fixed it by working with the belt guard, this time they again adjusted belt was quiet for about 10 miles. It was cold so I just turned up my new heated grips and the noise almost went away

Does anyone know if HD makes a Rider Back Rest that fits with the stock '18 or '19 Heritage seat? From what I can tell they don't. If you have one, where did you get it? I used http://www.grasshopperlimited.com/ for my current (non HD) bike.

Also, can I remove the pillion and install a backrest WITH a fender luggage rack (I won't be doing any 2-up). Anyone with pictures that show any variation of this, please share!!

Thanks,
-PH

HD only do a rider back rest for the Sundowner as far as I know. Grasshopper do make a back rest for the '18 onward Heritage which uses the two studs that secure the riders seat. With a seat, backrest and a rack it would be a close call whether there was enough length left in the studs to be able to secure all three with the thumb screws.

Thank Phil, that's what I thought. It looks like you go without the passenger seat. I like that clean look as well.

From looking at the solo seat luggage racks, its hard to tell if those actually use those same thumb bolts. I guess I could add the rack that the tour box uses (since I don't believe that uses the same seat thumb bolts). I'm just looking for some place to bungee some gear too big for the saddle bags when I do a camping trip (tent, sleeping bag, pad, etc.).

Thanks again,
-PH

I put on a leather bib and have the grasshopper and barely have enough threads on the bolt so really doubt a motherwell or similar luggage rack will fit with both. Can just get another bolt 1/2" longer, but may need to lift the rear high enough to get some small hands under the fender to replace.

The tour pack mounts on the saddlebag struts so wont use the same bolts. But I think it looks ugly by itself and replacing the thumbscrew bolts much simpler solution.

I have a fender bib from Capt Itch, a motherwell rack and the grasshopper back rest. No problems. The motherwell rack slips on the seat bolts, not under them. Same as the passenger seat.

Parrothead1809,

I also have the Grasshopper backrest & a Motherwell rack. Uses the same seat fasteners and works great. It's a long story, but I have a second new-in-the-box Grasshopper backrest for a '18 Heritage. Gimmie a shout if you're interested.

I have a basically brand-new Motherwell solo rack, gloss black, with fender rear bolt/screw. Don't need it any longer. Save you a lot of money over buying a new one. PM me if interested.
