I hear what you're saying, but the problem is it may or may not be true. I don't know what it's like in Canada, but here in the Disunited States, you hear different things from different dealers.
One dealer may deny a warranty claim that it swore up and down it would honor. That's just the way it is. There are tons of stories on this forum about the confusion and dishonesty of the Harley warranty. The only absolutely sure way to keep it intact is to stay with HD parts AND labor.
And please god don't let's get into another discussion about the The Magnuson-Moss Act.
your warranty is with Harley Davidson , so you need to be aware of what they will and won't cover . what some random dealer tells you isn't important at all until they give it to you in writing so you can sue them when (not if) it turns out they lied . and i'm not calling all dealers liars , just the ones who say they have anything to do with your warranty .
btw warranty here in Canada is the same as the US , it's all from HD , not the dealer .

Dealers have a ****-load of leeway in deciding what warranty stuff to honor and what to reject. Every try calling HD corporate for help on ANYTHING? Let me give you a tip: you won't get very far.

Dealers have no leeway at all. Your warranty is with the manufacter.
Read the owners manual. It says more then once that the dealer cannot make promises above the stated warranty, the dealer does not speak for the motor company. Please read the owners manual.
Your dealer will say anything to get you to buy. And most stand by their word.
As long as you take it back to them.
FP3 is a warranty killer here in Canada as well. It crosses the line.
But we get away with pipes and air cleaners.

Have to disagree with that.... I have an FP3 and have had two warranty repairs to my bike in the last few months. No issues at all.
As I said YMMV but that’s my own real world experience

You don't live in the real world. You live in Canada. I've read the manual. I've read the warranty section multiple times. My reading comprehension skills are renowned throughout the land.
Read what you just wrote about the FP3. Now read what your fellow Canuck says about his FP3. Does that not tell you something?
Dude, I'm just trying to tell you that, at least here in the good ol US, the Harley warranty is a very slippery slope and VERY dependent on what the individual dealers feel like that day. If you've had good experiences in Canada, then good all over you.

Being married to an American, I fully understand how far up your *** your head is to believe this.

Ouch. I thought you Canucks were supposed to be so polite and all. Your wife must have brought some of that American ***-holiness across the border with her and infected you.
