Did you by chance mount the new airbox before doing any exhaust changes? I'm wondering if a new map or a tuner would be required just for the airbox change.

I'll look for a complete take-off.

Yes fitted Airbox a while before 2-1, ok while stock mufflers with cats, if just for the look you can run the stock filter & pop a K&N in if you go mufflers/tuner

Yeah, I'm satisfied (for now), with the sound and power from my bike. It would just be for the look. So there was no change to the way yours ran, or power curve with only the air box swap?

I was looking into doing just an aircleaner swap because the 107 I'd be getting has the circle shape, and I want the SE Oval Ventilator(or the Arlen Ness Velocity 65) for looks. And I was suggested to still do a retune and autotune. Even if it's with the SE Tuner.
high flow airbox changes will lean out the engine still, even if you don't change the pipes. And the SE tuner's maps still account for lower flow catted pipes.
It's what 300$ for the SE tuner plus whatever taxes since it'd be free shipping? I'd rather be safe than sorry, you know?

Anybody getting a little bit of rust drip from under the top arm on the swing arm? On the underside of the top arm of the swing arm on my 2018 Fatboy there is a rivet head or something that will drip rust. Any thoughts?

Can you coat that head with some grease or rustoleum?

Default M8 Fat Boy

I’ve been enjoying the posts here and finally got around to joining the forum. I have a 2018 Fat Boy 114 FLFBS in two-tone red. It’s set up with a Memphis Fats 19” windshield, HD detachable saddle bags, Mustang standard touring seat w/driver backrest, 12V power port, and Garmin GPS w/Ram mount and Glare Stomper visor. Previous Harleys were a 2017 Road Glide Special and 2004 Road King Classic, Stage IV, two-tone blue, shark fin mufflers (still cool to this old guy). Got the Fat Boy in Jan 2019 and it’s a great bike. Added the Screamin’ Eagle Stage 2 in March and like most others have observed, it really wakes up an already powerful bike. I’m having a great time cruising in northern CA with it.

Great bikes aren't they Mike?

I've hesitated so far on getting another windshield and starting the seemingly endless trial and error to eliminate buffeting. I've found that on my FB without a shield if I'm not on the freeway I have no buffeting, and when I am on the slab depending on weather conditions it can be quite pleasant to untolerable without one. Seems that with more heat radiating off the road the buffeting gets worse. Fortunately I don't ride the slab often but I probably would if it was always as good as I've found it to be about half the time I'm on it. Yesterday I took it for a few miles and was able to use my left arm to give lane change signals and I didn't even feel I was being pushed off the bike. Other times it's felt like someone had a hold on my helmet and was whipping my head back and forth.

Only Harley I had before this was an '04 Deuce. Difference of night and day between that and this. The more I ride the FB the more I'm digging it.

I like that color on your bike. I was fortunate with my windshield in that it worked immediately without buffering issues. I’m wearing an Arai Defiant-X full face helmet, which I think has a lot to do with it because it is very aerodynamic. I’m also running mustache bars with desert dawgs soft lowers, which is probably helping with protection from turbulence caused by updrafts. I do a lot of highway cruising to get to my motorcycle routes, and appreciate the ride of the big tires and suspension on the FLFBS.
