What year is your bike? Just curious because if it's an 18 or early 19, there's a fix for the excessive oil out of the breathers. Mine was covered under warranty and HD knows about this issue.

I had so much oil coming out of the breathers it was saturating my air cleaner and dripping all over the side of the bike. At the 1000 mile service, they suspected faulty breather valves so replaced those. 10 miles down the road the oil is puking out still.

I turned around and took it right back to them. They called HD tech services for assistance and with that found the issue. The 18's and some early 19's came with an oil pump back plate that had a seperate oring. They modified this plate with an attached seal. They also replaced the cylinders and pistons due to the amount of oil build up from sucking in a ton of that oil.

After that, not a drop of oil out of my breathers even with the oil at the full mark. Don't just put a bandaid on the issue as it's still there. You just simply rerouted the oil. It's an easy fix. Here's the upgraded oil pump back plate.

My 114 is a mid 2018 and have a 107 that is mid 2019, both of them without any issue but I have the external breathers on both of them since I do that to all my Harley's.

Thanks for the info, mine is an 18, every time I call Harley or ask service they give me this is the normal operation bull, I tell them for the money they charge the product is weak at best, but I own Four of them, so shame on me, my Indian Scout Bobber runs like a champ, but not quite the same.

I can send you a picture of the bill showing it was covered by warranty and the notes stating the tech called HD for support on the issue if it may help your argument. It's not normal at all and the warranty will cover it. It covered mine with no issues at all from HD.

This fix has been updated to a complete new oil pump that includes a back plate.

I was curious so just pulled the factory stock A/C off my 2018 107 LR. Bike has about 4300 miles on it and, as far as I am aware, the original oil pump and plate.

Barely a trace of oil in there, just a light mist in some areas, no drips or puddles at all.

My Edward Richie sissy bar came in today. Looking forward to a Labor Day road trip. Sorry for the messy garage, woodworking project in progress.

Hello all.

It is getting to be that time for a new rear tire on my 2018 FXFBS. (8000 Miles on ODO)
For those of you with a 2018 or newer Fat Bob, what tires have you used to replace the factory Dunlop's? has anybody used the Pirelli Night Dragons?

Also, when I first got the bike it had blew oil out of the breathers on to the air filter. However after leaving the rain sock on for awhile I have not noticed any more coming out.
For those of you running external breather kits, what kit did you use?

Also, does anybody else feel like the front end of the 2018+ bikes is a little soft?

Have had the Pirelli ND's on for 5000 mkles and love them. Great ride and good in the rain, cornering grip is improved.

Yes the front feels soft, and it may have contributed to the cupping on my Dunlops but it sure soaks up the bumps.
