Suggestions!! I need to get my bars closer to me so my arms aren't locked out and I'm not leaning forward as much. (short as f*#k.... lol) I don't really need them to be higher; just clsoer.
Anyone know of risers that fit our bars that will pullback? Or any suggestions on bars that will fit and accomplish the same thing. If changing bars I'd really like to try and stay with the look of ours somewhat.
I did search but everything I seen dealt with raising the bars as the priority....... not pullback.
Thanks!!
It depends on how much you need them pulled back. I replaced mine with the Harley Fat Drag bars, which keep the same low flat look (although they're only 1.25", so they're not as fat as the stock bars) and the net result was the handgrips ending up about 3/4" closer. Not much change, but just enough that I find it a lot more comfortable.
They're better than the stock mirrors, certainly, but by themselves they're not enough. I put them on a set of Krator mirror extenders, and then they give a perfect view. With the long-stem mirrors mounted on the mirror extenders, I can see the car directly behind me, as well as everyone in both lanes next to me, in each mirror. It's game-changing. The mirror extenders are a bit ugly, so I tried to replace them with mirror risers, but that didn't work out, those don't work with the long-stem mirrors.
Here's what I'm using - they look a bit goofy, but they work extremely well:
Did you have to do any mods to the one for the left side? (Is there a small bump on the underside that doesn't fit well? Or did I get a bad part?)
You're right, the left one isn't an exact fit. I ground down the bump off it.
Thanks. Sucks that HD doesn't even offer an option to address this concern. They offer an extension kit in chrome - for the 2018+ fatbob - that has the stock mirrors in black).... genius! (not)
