Added the Flo Motorsports MX pegs and shifter to the bike today. These products are super nice and the seem very well designed a constructed. I was worried about the fit for the "fowardish" controls of the FXFB as I had only seen them on mid control bikes. I was worried for nothing. Foot placement remains the same but my foot feels way more planted on the bike, and easier to shift weight for spirited riding. These flat out impressed me. I ordered on Sunday night and they were in my mailbox today with fast standard shipping. Now if Flo would only make a brake peddle for the forward control softail, I would buy it in a second!
Has anyone tried the extended version of the stock mirrors mounted upside down? I'm sure they will clear the tank at full lock but not sure if they will hang too low & affect visibly with a full face helmet.
I did exactly that, I put the long stem tapered mirrors upside down. They can be set so that they clear the tank. And I loved the clean flat line of the handlebar with nothing sticking up.
However, after a few days, I went back to the upright mirror mounting. I just found the upside down mirrors to be a safety question; I had to actually physically move my head to get a look in them, which meant not being able to see forward through peripheral vision during those times that I was looking in the mirror. I didn't like it, it didn't feel right, so I abandoned it.
I never did like the flipped mirrors on my Sportster 48 and ended up flipping them up the top of the bars. The view just sucks and they look funny in my opinion. So I guess I'm just weird like that.
Tail tidy with new Zeel tail light and tag relocation bracket
Carbon fibre wrap
Bung King high crash bar
Hold Fast sissy and hardware
Exhaust - TBR stainless 2-1
Nice ride! I see they finally made a proper crash bar for the Fat Bob which doesn't have the lower sliders that seem to get in the way while leaning. Looks much better than the 2 step crash bar for the Fat Bob as well.

Did you find the extended mirrors give you good line of sight up top?

They're better than the stock mirrors, certainly, but by themselves they're not enough. I put them on a set of Krator mirror extenders, and then they give a perfect view. With the long-stem mirrors mounted on the mirror extenders, I can see the car directly behind me, as well as everyone in both lanes next to me, in each mirror. It's game-changing. The mirror extenders are a bit ugly, so I tried to replace them with mirror risers, but that didn't work out, those don't work with the long-stem mirrors.
Here's what I'm using - they look a bit goofy, but they work extremely well:
Here's what I tried to change to, but they didn't work out (might work on stock mirrors, I don't know, but weren't appropriate for the long-stem mirrors):
After doing a mock up on my non-ABS bike I ordered 1.75" riser blocks from CJM. Bitchen Seat Store sells as well and says 2" blocks fit but it seemed stretched when I did a mockup. CJM says there only comfortable with 1.75" on ABS with no brake line change (they make no claim for non ABS). The non-ABS front brake line is an engineering fail for sure. I know you can clip it and tap it but it seems like it could have been designed better for customization in mind. I may order an ABS front setup and make a hard line jumper for the ABS ports in the future. For now I went with the 1.75 and a I am more than pleased with the bar position. I am 6 ft tall, and this has brought the bar up and back to where my back is not slumped at all and all the weight is off my hands/wrist. Test ride felt amazing and I felt like I had better control of the bar in cornering.
I think you could probably get 2" in there but that brake line will be tight on non-ABS models. It shouldn't see any stretch during operation, but it didnt seem sound to me. Clutch line and electrical were a non issue with plenty of slack.
Bottom line: Quality product, major improvement, worth every penny. Super easy install. Stock bolts seemed like they were not torqued. Stud came out vice nut coming off the stud. Brake line
