1. Drag Specialties Black Predator III
2. Saddlemen Speed Merchant
3. Mustang Tripper Fastback
4. Corbin Wall

Any recommendations or suggestions? Something cool not on my list here?
Let us know what you go with and long distance comfort review if you don't mind? I've been looking and can't decide what to go with.

Everyone I talk to seems to have the same opinion of the seat options within the club style genre (whiplash, saddlemen, drag specialties, etc.).. they’re all super comfortable and the difference appears to be seating position and road vibration. Just my two cents

So the difference in seat cushion and backing material is going to be the most determining vibration factor. Our factory seats are made from injection molded plastic with high density foam cushions and rubber bumpers as frame protection. This allows the seat to flex and reverberate the engine/ road vibration up through our bums. The foam does little to stop these vibrations and more or less simply mutes the intensity.
Aftermarket seats use fiberglass, metal injected plastic molding or metal as backing. And most of them use a combination of open cell high density foam, memory foam and/ or impact gel. The stiffer backing material and more dense cushion helps to almost eliminate vibrations from the road by not allowing flex. Any of the aftermarket seats are going to reduce these vibrations more than stock. It’s really just a preference of seating position and looks at the end of the day. Unless you’re putting in 500-600 miles days they’ll all perform well.

Thanks for the info. I occasionally will do 400-500 mile days but with a few rest stops in between. My stock seat just sucks for anything over an hour. Most of my day rides are about 200-300 miles so I think I'll be fine with the seat I've been looking at based on this and other's opinions. Thanks again for the info.

I've done 600+ mile days on the stock seat with absolutely zero problems. On all of my other bikes I have had custom seats made, but for my Softail Fat Bob I just haven't seen the need.

That said, I may get one down the road, but it will be purely a cosmetic thing.

My personal recommendation is Ed at Sick Saddles. He is kind of slow, but worth the wait. My alligator solo seat with tank and fender bibs was a work of art on my old Dyna.

Welcome for the info.

I have to agree with you adm, the stock does fine for 600+. Guess it’s all relative to the individual’s comfort needs. I too will switch, at some point, for aesthetics.

For me I've broken my tail bone and it bothers me after about an hour in this saddle. On previous bikes I've had a sundowner for the longer trips but I also had a passenger for the gigantic pillow pillion.

I don't want the sundowner now as I have no use for the passenger pillion. I've been thinking about the Saddleman step up or Corbin "the wall" at the moment.
