On a stock fatbob seat, I was numb after an hour. I put 3,000 miles on a road trip with an Air Wolf and completely forgot about it. It was amazing. There is a trick to it, you barely inflate it. It has 2 straps that go under the stock seat. Not elegant, but works. Highly recommend it.
I was happy with the stock seat, did a few 4+ hours rides stopping only for gas and never felt uncomfortable. The problem is the for the passenger, the little pad hardly gives support and my wife was quick to let me know, so I had to change the seat, we tried a sundowner seat (dealer loaner) and we both liked how it felt, but I didn't like how it looks on the bike, so I went with the mustang.
The original saddle is very comfortable the first 10 minutes, after an hour of driving it's a horror.
I think to change the foam by a higher density this winter.
For the design I will keep the same thing.
Recently purchased the Butty Buddy from JP cycles ($150.)for my friend to ride on. She said its pretty comfortable. Was considering Sundowner but this is easier & cheaper plus like the look better. Already have Road Zeppelin which works fine for me.
