Welcome to the forum,
I would say just weld it back on and you are done.
I got my DOUGZ fairing last week. Super simple install and everything fit as it should. This is a really high quality fairing and it performs great. I'll be sending it off for paint soon. I'm stoked! Check it -
Been looking at Dougz bullit fairing lately and have been wondering about the functionality of it. It sure looks great, but I'm curious about how well it blocks the wind from your chest and if you have experienced any buffeting at all?
I was wondering if I should get the windshield as well or just go with the fairing alone, but I don't want to end up with bufeting on my head. Can you share your long term experiences and the pros and cons you have noticed while running this fairing?
I just threw on the screaming eagle extreme-flow air cleaner. Unfortunately, it gets in the way of my leg more than I anticipated :/ Im also not sold on the looks just yet. Has anyone done the same? Thoughts? My alternative would be to put the stock kit back on and just replace the filter with K&N.
Ventilator is the only satisfactory air cleaner shape for leg clearance, as far as I am concerned. And it's the best looking, again IMO. I have thought many times about something like the Heavy Breather, but the irritation of leg clearance on every ride is just something I wouldn't want to deal with.
The Ventilator has plenty of flow for a Stage II engine. Good for at least 125 hp.
If you are going beyond that, to a 131ci or 128 or Stage IV etc, you can get a high flow Ventilator from FuelMoto. Same basic form factor but very slightly thicker with a higher flowing filter and whatever other changes that let it support 150+ hp.
Or there's the Ventilator Extreme, it is a similar form factor and supports 150+ hp IIRC. I don't know how it compares to the original Ventilator in terms of thickness though.

I run this fairing alone and find it takes almost all the wind off my chest. I like the storage space it has to put a jacket or other stuff in as well. I have not purchased the 5 up wind shield yet but plan to. My understanding of how the windshield is designed is that it stops all buffeting.

Thanks for the info. Your bike looks good! I think I will just order the windshield right off the bat. Hoping this will make the longer rides a bit less tiring by the end of the day. And they just look bad ***.
How was the install? I understand that it comes with brackets to extend the headlight out a bit to fit in the fairing? I figure it should be pretty simple but I'm just trying to get an idea of everything that's involved.

Thank you. The windshield should make longer rides at freeway speeds much less tiring.
Install was a breeze. Should take no more than an hour. Doug provides detailed instructions that are easy to follow. He is also in the process of making a chin spoiler. Here is the prototype.

Good to hear! I am looking forward to the relief on the long haul. I've been following the progress on the chin spoilers on FB. Looks good but I'm not sure if I want one or not. Do you know of any benifits of a chin spoiler or are they just for looks?
