Default Who Has 18+ Low Rider and Had a 17 Dyna LR

As titls says, like some comparisons to 17 and prior Dyna LR and 18 Softtail LRs....

Posted topic earlier about the LR to Fat Boy....Also decided to look at the Softtail LR...Have Dyna LR now....Like to know of those that have ridden or owned both what you experienced ride wise between to two....Rather take it from someone that has ridden both vs fluffy websites.

TIA!

Rather than take someone's opinion on how one bike rides compared to another, you're probably in the best position to evaluate that. Especially since you already have the LR now and should be able to see the differences from your experience.

Sounds like you need to go do some test rides.

Always like to hear others opinions when evaluating a big purchase....Someone may pick up something I don't and allows me to formulate my own opinion before purchase.

My original questions was for experience with those that had ridden both or owned both....Not what process I should purchase. Thanks.

I've ridden the '18 Low Rider and own a '16 Low Rider S.
The new bike has a much smoother engine and a lot less vibration. The chassis is better. I like the brakes better on my Dyna. I don't like the bars on the new Low Rider. I could have bought the '18 but like my Dyna better, it just feels raw and more exciting to ride. I've never had a bike put a smile on my face like the Low Rider S does.

I had a ‘16 LRS and now a 19 LR w/stage 3. The LRS was faster stage 1 then the stage 1 107, but the stage 3 is considerably faster. The 19 frame is leaps and bounds stiffer which makes for a much more planted and more stable ride. Handling is outstanding. Pegs are a little high, but that’s the only negative I have. Stock suspension is excellent. The first HD I’ve owned that didn’t get immediately upgraded, suspension wise. Front brakes were a bit better on the 16 though, but I’m hoping the Arlen Ness big brake kit I’m waiting on will make up for it.

my two cents...

I tested a low miles 2016 Low Rider a day before buying my 2018 Low Rider. For me it was clear, the Dyna was a good bike but it was not in the same performance class as the new bike. With the old bike, I've never cared for rubber mounting, it feels heavy and vague. There isn't enough ground clearance, it dives like a mother when you grab some brake. The new bikes chassis is better. As far as looks and sounds go, neither are as good as my pan, but they are ready to do battle on the road, the 2018 more so.

I feel the same way . I have a friend who has the low rider s and we had exchanged bikes to see if the S was faster .it isn't .I beat him and leave him every time .as for how I feel about the low rider s I didn't like the shaking the bike felt heaver .and didn't handle like my bike I like the low rider s but it feels old and outdated ,It will be a collectors bike ,I may seem bias but these M8 engines and these new frame are a giant step in performance .you want a collectors item get the low rider , you want modern performance get the new low rider .
