I just put a deposit on a 2018 114 in black tempest. Its used selling for over msrp now. This thread helped me pull the trigger. Has 195 miles on it.
Don’t see too many softail 128” with 2-2 exhaust. What exhaust is it and do you have a Dyno sheet? Curious how 2-2 affected power?
The weird thing is it didnt. its scary fast . 127/149 final numbers. I left some on the table but the people in my rear view mirror would not believe me if I told them I did. Sorry dont have the dyno run chart to show but it has 140 ft/tq at 2800 rpms . its a complete wall and caries to 149ft/tq at 4200 rpm and holds 130 ft/tq at 5200 rpm. The horsepower of course kicks in at 5252 where they meet and cross on the chart. I didnt care or have the build done for horsepower because down below 5252 it doesnt mean ****. that is why all these big builds with big horsepower cams get walked on because some dont produce the torque to carry the bike to the horsepower . That is fine if your racing on a racetrack staying at 5252 to bouncing of the rev limiter but on the street I have seen and done damage on tall builds like that and the guys are like why. this is 131 with 521 fueling cam and I destroyed him no matter where in the rolling start no matter the gear , no matter from stop and even on the freeway. Only time he had something for me is when we stretched it out to past 110 mph at top speed he of course creeped by me and won. who races like that normally to top speed, we usually race within the range of a v twin on back roads or light to light and its over . He had 150/150 build but his curve is in the wrong spot for torque coming on too late when the horsepower he had kicked in along with it which it was fast but to get to it I am already gone and to the next gear and wall of pain. my 127/149 compared to 150/150 and he got walked on all over the place. and it was a softail too to make it apples to apples. And I cant stand the mono farting sound of something missing but real loud while its missing sound of 2:1. They don't make any aftermarket 2:2 exhaust headers so you have to get a 2:1 complete exhaust system with header and slip ons or nothing if you want 2:2. My bike with the short exhaust barks loud at idle and has a deep thunder bark and its in stereo and is quite loud, as loud as my buddies D&D's . My buddies with 2:1 say mind sounds the fullest and best because of the 2:2. I am thinking of selling out though since there is no option for what is left on the table 2:2. . I like to do it my way and everyone is 2:1 crazy and it is proven but its not the only way. If I do it may be Burns 2:1. I like the thunder of the magnaphone cone . its deep and it has a distinctive sound but it still a 2:1 mono loud farter when on the pipe .

Thanks and 10-4 on the lower lift bolt-in cams. The M8 big bores just seem to respond well to the smaller cams. I have a 128 with the S&S 475 and bike pulls hard. On my past bikes, I either did or had all the performance mods done, so I knew everything about the bike. This time, I bought the bike with the big bore already done to save a bunch of money. It has 64mm TB, Ventilator Extreme, SE CNC heads, big injectors, and D&D Fatcat. It was tuned by a HD tech near Dallas, but I cant get map or any info from guy who built it, so probably going to get it tuned by Dyno Difference, so I know it is setup right. He did several tunes on my last bike, and it always ran really well. Sometimes I miss the look and sound of a 2-2 exhaust, but dont want to dump money when it already has a nice set of pipes. Did that too many times on my TC

I totally can understand the money part. I love the S&S 475 cam and have ridden bikes with it. It has a nice filthy lope at idle and it works best under cubes and compression. I almost got one instead of the 468. It hits everywhere and brings it more right of the curve then my 468. Sweet setup.

I purchased my 2018 Breakout from a private seller for 16K and he was asking 17K. After talking back and forth we came to the agreement. Not to mention it had under 2k miles along with had a Bassani RR 2-1 Exhaust & SE Air Cleaner.
Shortly after that I saw one at my local dealer and they were asking almost 22K for one that had over 3.5K miles with the only mod being ape hangers. I would look to see if you can find one privately and will still be able to finance from HD.
Wanted to drop a line here in the everything 2018 Breakout thread. I have several items for sale that fit 2018 & newer Breakouts. On HD forums, member market place, softail. Items include a Thunderbike crossfire chin spoiler (new), 2018 softail service manual, HD standard height sissy bar (docking hardware not included) & a HD waxed canvas backpack that attaches to the sissy bar. Bought the bag for longer day rides. Also have some stock take offs in the stock parts forum, stock drag bars in black & a complete stock exhaust system
The FXBRS has been a blast to ride & even more fun upgrading, but it was time to get something that I can ride for longer periods of time & carry more than my cellphone. Picked up a new Road King Special..
Yes what bars are those??? She is a beauty as well...
Trask Performance, V-Line bars. More, rise & pullback than the stock drag bars & about 4" narrower end to end. Really helped with the riding position. Stock cables are long enough.
