Would you guys ever consider going over to The Dark Side? If unfamiliar, check the sub-forum under 'This n That' here on HDforums....

Haven't considered it and have nothing against it but I figure I will stick with bike tires. On the flip side, I wonder if anyone is putting bike tires and modified wheels on their cars?

Edit: I guess there are some out there....

For those of you running the Cobra Chrome tires, have you leaned the bike over enough to ride on that snake skin pattern that comes onto the tread from the sidewall? Wondering if it affects traction or anything else at all while leaned over in a corner?

The front won't be an issue but the rear will definitely make contact with the pavement on that snake skin pattern. Have you guys hit this part of the tread yet?

I doubt the road will touch that rubber pattern. You only have a little over 30 degrees of ground clearance to lean.

Actually that's 32 degrees to the left and 31 to the right until the foot peg touches. The foot peg folds up so you get a bit more lean out of it than what is stated in the specs.

I'm getting to the edge of the tread on the stock rear. I think it's definitely possible to contact that part of the rear on the Cobra Chrome tires for sure. It won't be all the time but it looks like it's possible. Unless the tire has a much more rounded profile than the stock Dunlop.

I’ve dragged parts on both sides but I don’t think I’ve hit the snake yet. I doubt Avon would put that on there if it would upset the handling.

Awesome good to know and I'm sure you're correct. Was just curious about it. Thanks again.
