Yeah, traditional thunderheader I like the look. The new high pipe not at all.
Did not know they came out with the traditional yet, that would have been my first choice as well. So I went looking and found a vid and pic of the TH pipe on a 2018 FXLR, looks like good ground clearance as well. That will definitely be the pipes I switch too, once I put some miles on the engine. Had them on my Night Train and they were great with the engine build.
I got a set of Bassani RR from someone on Facebook. They are louder than the Rhinehart slipons I had before, but sound deeper and to me a better sound as I thought the slip ons were a little raspy. Also, no decel pop like I had on the slip ons. Still need to do some self tuning on the Powervision but runs well so not in any hurry. Note that they dont sit that low, just the angle of the camera.

Yeah, it looks good. Two problems for me though. 1) theres not much louder then the TH. I dont want eat bleeding volume. And 2) $1300 price tag. Way too much.

Thunderheader can be surprisingly mellow. Had one for 35,000 miles and did 700 mile days with no earplugs and no grief. Sure they Can be loud, but you control it.

My problem is I’m not mellow. I tend to ride hard, which means it’ll be screaming a lot of the time. I had a “Red Thunder” once - a German made version of the thunderheader, which I got rid of after a couple of rides due to being way too loud.
I dont have the fat cat, but i have the bobcat. I like it. It isn't raspy. I dont think it's loud, but others have told me that when i get on it, that it is sound mean. I come from muscle cars, i wanted a loud, clean sound, and the power. The fatcat makes the most power with the M8, and i would have gone with it, but my breakout already suffers from scraping stuff while turning.
