Hi everyone. So i'm new to the forum and as a Harley owner. My Deluxe didn't come with an engine guard so i bought the HD one for it since i know it'd be a sure fit. Only thing i got home last night and was looking and I don't see any bolt holes anywhere. The diagram it came with looks like the hole would be where the front bolt for the floorboards are bolted on. Anyone have any advice/pictures? I know this should be an easy install, but i was scratching my head as i looked at this last night. Thanks for the help.
I had seen that black cap looking thing, but was iffy about messing with it to much. Again, I'm a newbie when it comes to working on motorcycles. Awesome. Thanks for the help.
Surprised the instructions weren't in the package you received. But Harley also posts the installation instructions online with the parts listing on their Accessories webpage.

Glad you asked. We were all newbies once. Thats why we are here. To help each other and learn more ourselves. Welcome.
Curious...didn't your new engine guard come w/ installation instructions?
I think he had the instructions, though he says "diagram" in his first post.
I'll be the first to admit that I've had trouble understanding some of the installation instructions that come with H-D parts and accessories, but I'm pretty sure I could understand "Remove plastic plugs from frame mounting holes, if present."
It did, but i'm more of a visual person. so i'll admit i was looking at the pictures and looking at that i was counting the holes. Then i did go to the extent of reading, but i totally missed where it said there were plugs protecting the threads that needed to be removed.
