Yes. Mine is especially prevalent on decel during upshifting.

I’m also almost certain baffles would sort it.

I’ve had the same noise on an Evo Dyna and 1200 Sporty and baffles sorted it. I’m sure there’s a technical explanation but I am not clever enough to offer it.

I have to be honest I’m not at all happy with the performance hit from the slip-ons. I wasn’t expecting to gain any, which would’ve been fine as the bike pulls well with the stock pipes. But torque has taken a significant hit in the low/mid range and I’m hoping the baffles help a bit.

Post #4 here seems to offer hope:

I ordered the quiet baffles and an FP3 today. Should be in next week when I'll update progress, if any.

Let us know how you get on.

The quiet baffles are on a month minimum lead time here in the UK so I’ll have to wait to see the results.

Does it sound like an 18 wheeler using its engine brake?

I have a set of 300's on my 18 FLHCS. They have the "reverb" on decel. The bike runs awesome, absolutely no loss of power. I installed the quite baffles just to see the difference in loudness. No change in the way it ran and it still had the "reverb". I guess it bothers some people. I never even thought about it until this thread. I am not sure it's the same sound you guy's are talking about. I have watched several you tube videos with the 300's and every single one sounds just like mine. I have a PV installed with a tune from Fuel Moto.

I’m not hugely bothered on the sound either way, I got used to it happening on the Evo but I can’t believe people haven’t noticed a drop in performance... perhaps some people had them fitted to the M8 before really riding stock much.

Having put 900 miles on stock pipes and then fitting the Eliminators, there’s a noticeable drop in low and mid-range torque. Coming from an 80” Evo, the M8 felt like a monster, but I’d be tempted to say with the 300s, it almost feels like the 80”. Both with the stock tune and the recommended FuelPak map.

To me, they perform like drag pipes. Which, given the way they’re designed makes sense. The performance hit definitely feels very typical of what usually comes with open/drag pipes.

I’m really hoping the quiet baffles make a difference otherwise I’ll be looking for an alternative slip-on with a longer, barrel style baffle like they used to use in the old Screamin Eagle mufflers.

Yeah, I can say I've noticed a decrease in torque with the 300s. I figured that was just something I would have to live with until the warranty runs out and I can do a turner, or I say f**k the warranty and I do a tuner sooner. Hopefully, the quiet baffles somewhat solve both of my issues.
