Still looking for a good exhaust option. I want loud, and yes, a bit obnoxious is ok. I hate the hum of the M8 on the Heritage and I need to make that disappear. At least as much as is possible.
At the risk of the warranty void, I am researching V&H Shortshots full exhaust. I have the Big Radius on my 2002 Wide Glide. While not super loud, they do have a nice throaty sound and nice volume. Since I am keeping the WG, I don't want the same pipes on the 2022 Heritage.
My question is, since they are clearly not in the way, why do all the vendors insist on the saddlebag support kit?

I put on Tab Performance slip-ons with zombie baffle on my 2020 Heritage 114 couple weeks ago. Much louder than the S&S I had on before, especially when you twist the grip. Some say they are the loudest you can get. I don't know about that but I'm more than happy with them, and I did not lose any performance, at least that I can tell. Also, they're sounding better as time goes on.

The TAB Zombies were actually my first choice. I like the sound until you rev it. The idle sounds good and going down the road sounds great! For OTHER reasons, I will be wearing earplugs on long trips anyway. I just don't care for the crackle during the rev. But I am "not that guy" and I don't ever rev it hard. I let my friends do that LOL
I was considering the Shortshots because I've always liked the V&H sound and it would keep the pipes out of the way if I decided to go with hard bags in the future. I hate that "Chiclet" style stuff on the 2018+ Heritage. For the same cost and less hassel, perhaps just a bag and seat leather redo like I saw a few weeks ago from a guy in MD. Same thing; just in black.

In looking at the install instructions, it comes with a new bracket for the non-bagged softails, but the bagged softails take a separate mount, really doesn't matter whether the bags are in the way, it's the mount is different on those models.
