Default 2018+ Heritage Wind Deflectors / Fangs

A few quick questions:

If you mounted Harley or JES wind deflectors / fangs on your bike, did you mount them on the inside or outside of the windshield "spools"?

If you have the Harley ones (drilled to fit a 2018+) did you mount them scooped forward or scooped backward?

Did you have any clearance issue with the engine guard (regular not the mustache type)?

Thank you for responding!

I have JES mounted inside the spools. I posted a thread a few weeks ago about the install. I have a short video where I walk around the bike to show the angles better.

Mounted outside the spool.

Mounted inside the spool.

One out, one in.

Final install. Mounted inside the spools.

Any issue putting the windshield back on (I would assume the spools are further apart after mounting inside)?

Here is a pic from a little different angle using the JES fangs on my 2018 Deluxe. Mounted this way retains quick release of my Harley Davidson windshield.

I tried mounting the Harley Wind Deflectors and afterward, there is no way to put the windshield back on. I "may" have been able to mount the windshield at the same time, but it could never be quick released again.... Am I missing something?

The JES wind deflectors work fine.

I went with the JES suggestion to mount them on the outside. They stop buffeting better than I hoped for.

I will try the Harley fangs again, this time on the outside of the windshield spools, hope that works!

Mounted my JES fangs on the outside. Makes it easier to pop off the windshield. I did have some clearance issues with my engine guard on the left side. I did some hand adjusting and now it clears, though I put some tape on the engine guard just in case.
