Default Some upgrades to my Heritage

Added crash bars, bag bars, heel toe shifter, moved the floor boards out (DK Customs), Motherwell rack and, windshield bag and Zumo XT mount. I also installed some parts from Harley that are listed as non-fitting. I guess the term now is fangs, i.e.; air deflectors. Had to drill a new hole and mounted them behind the windshield quick release tabs. Lost the quick release option, but is not a problem for me. Also at full turn they barely touch the highway bars. They look good and work well. Harley's laydown license plate mount. Installed with no modification. I'm a fan of the old school tool box. Had to elongate the lower hole on the back plate. Used one top hole and the modified bottom hole. One the box itself, I used the existing top hole and

drilled a new hole in the bracket to level the box. Need to plug one hole in the box and I might drill a third hole if needed.

Very nice. Didn't know Motherwell was making racks for the new softails yet, I'll check it out, got two of their racks sitting in the garage because they don't fit.

Good question and as this is a work in progress you've got me thinking of a modification. I'm going to take the tool box off of the mounting plate, two nuts and bolts easy to get at, then I'm going to drill the back plate to give tool access to the side cover screws.

It is ALWAYS a work in progress. It varies for everyone, but would say 4-5 years and thousands of dollars later, one would have the bike they really want. I got lucky and had my Wide Glide for 5 years before I did anything. And even then it was just a engine guard, axel covers and a few dress-up acorn nuts LOL
