This topic may well have been covered a few times but cant see any recent posts of experiences with it.. I have a 2019 Fat Bob with standard Hi-flow intake and V & H Short Shots and FP3 Down loaded the map from V&H and am not aware of any major issues but i come from the japs sports bike world so everything is polar opposite to what i am used to. Was thinking of doing the auto tune to see if there were any noticeable differences. Any one got any experiences with the same set up, good or bad, that they care to share.
The FP3 is a good tool for those of us who want to / have changed the air filter and pipes and are happy at that. If you wanted to scrape every ounce of power from your motor, then you'd quickly reach the limitations of the FP3, which is why some people swear by it, some at it.
V&H always recommends running a couple of tanks worth of petrol after re mapping to give the ECU a chance to make any fine adjustments it deems necessary and depending who you ask, has an ability to adjust the fuel air ratio by as much as + / - 20%.
I have used the auto tune, but didn't really notice any great difference to be honest. I find their maps generally to be pretty much spot on for me. If, by any chance you were going to auto tune because of a flat spot at low revs, you'd be better getting rid of the Short Shots first, as they're **** poor for low down torque .

Cheers for the reply Phil.
I am just interested in giving it a try to see if there is any difference to be honest as i am not used to the V-twins., but does seem to be ok from the downloaded map.
Did you have any issues with the first auto tune run out as some have said the first ride is terrible as the map is deleted and re-written but i was under the impression it just tweeked the current map as is. Just wondering what to expect.
Love the Short Shots to be honest so they are staying and have not really noticed the flat spot as not ridden it much before i did the Covid inspired change...
Once i have done the auto tune I was going to try the throttle response settings to alleviate some of the lag.

Yup, you can definitely expect that. It will run like a pig. Performance will improve as you keep applying the changes, but I doubt you'll compare before and after and find any changes earth shattering, not in my experience anyway.
One thing I think we (can nearly) all agree on is V&H's Customer Service is outstanding. Email them from the app if you're having any probs,
So in summary. . .
You basically think it's probably not worth the bother of doing especially as I seem to have no issues and only the very occasional "pop".
The Decal pop is only on the odd occasion and honestly I quite like it.
Maybe I'll just play with the throttle response settings and see what that feels like.
Clearly I am feeling the need to fiddle with stuff.... hahahaha

If you like the occasional decel pop, leave it. Its not hurting anything. As far as autotune, give it a go. Doing that might get rid of that throttle lag youre feeling. If the autotune doesnt improve things, you can always go back to the V&H tune.
