Default NO Neutral light!!??

Looking for a Harley for my wife to ride. Just found a Private sale, 2020 Softail Standard. Bought it used but literally has only 700 miles. Super cherry garage kept condition. This bike is BONE STOCK except the guy put on forward controls and ditched the mids. He did the job himself but everything seems to operate fine, ........ EXCEPT

The Neutral light (green N) does NOT illuminate. I have no idea if this could be related to him doing the forward controls himself or not. The bike starts up fine, shifts fine, and I can get it into neutral every time. But just no green N light. With such a bone stock, and new bike, I kinda think its gotta be something with the forward controls the guy added. Not sure. Again, the bike starts up and rides fine. And I can get it into neutral, just no green light.

Under the circumstances, what gives!? This is a cherry cherry bone stock bike with 700 miles. Id really hate to have to take it to HD. Gotta be something simple.

I put forwards on a new 1985 FXRS. Not sure why it would affect the neutral light. My install didn’t, and I was dumber then than I am now.

Does the bike start in gear? If no, then I would check the actual light circuit. If yes, I would check neutral switch / circuit

Occam's Razor would do well here. Start with a blown bulb.

I cant speak for 2020, but the older bikes have mini bulbs, and they can go bad.

Found it! Looks like a switch on top of the trans. Maybe neutral switch!? One of the wires was disconnected. Maybe got this way when he installed a new battery?

anyways, problem solved

Good job! The dealership would have likely charged a pretty penny for that!
