Who the hell sticks a horizontal oil filter over the engine? I've never worked on anything that's a bigger pain in the *** than my LRST. Everything is small and tight and hard to get to. Don't bother listing the easy stuff... All things considered, the most frustrating thing to work on ever.

I've tore into pretty much everything I've ever owned. I have always said nobody could pay me enough to be a automotive mechanic.

I will admit it’s tricky to get the thing started.
But after wrenching on Porsches, I have a high threshold for what ticks me off 😂😂

Yeah like having to take the rear bumper assembly and tail lights off to access the engine air filters or servicing the serpentine belt on the wife's Porsche 911 Carrera 4.

I've had Subaru, and know a former Subaru mechanic... On 2.5L boxer engine in Legacy... It's easier to pull the engine to change spark plugs than doing them in place. Pure lunacy.

And you didn`t call the oil tank an "Oil Bag"

Don`t get me started about calling gas tanks "Tins".

I know exactly, what u speak of. When i did the first service on my Breakout, a lot of aggravation. Start with the oil filter, not sure who or how its put on, but it was not suppose to come off. U cant get at it other than the end. My oil filter wrench, cap style, would only slip on it. Never had a problem with that wrench before. Two self tapers and a little flat bar finally got it. BP way high. Primary, no problem. Took the side cover off to get at the trans dipstick, standing on my head, i see it,all i could say was " U got to be F&CKING with me. Put the cover back on and got a hold of my buddy, who does any major work for me and said he can do it on the hoist.
Now i see whats involved, ill do it myself next time.

You are correct poor design.
