lowbar,
I was receiving the exact same error as you. I was able to resolve the issue by re-installing the previous software update (version 240002237D from March 2024). I obtained the update from my local dealer. This updated the Skyline OS Version to 240002237D to match the software version and allowed me to contine at Step 10 as the directions state... hope this helps
You can get the dealer to update it under warranty if you have any issues with CarPlay, audio dropping out, or screen going blank. The full list of warrantable issues is in the TSB.
Over the air future updates is the greatest win of this.
BUT.. I´m going to wait a little before doing this update. Too early to know how many new bugs come along. Hopefully Harley Techs prevented any bugs and issues.
Letwait and see.
Be careful what you wish for, OTA updates are not always a good thing. Not only are you downloading updates but HD could be uploading your driving data (mileage, operating parameters, etc.). Sounds conspiracy theory I realize, but GM was recently sued in Florida for selling their on-star customer data to third parties, (Lexis Nexis, etc.), who in turn sell it to your insurance company. Ford does the same and my experience with my 2023 Bronco OTA updates has been awful. My Bronco has no issues and all was fine, yet, (unknown to me), Ford did an update to the window bounce back feature and now I have to reset one of the rear windows at least once a week. Also, my Bronco had an amazing start-up sequence on the 12 main screen, that a few customers complained about, so now its gone, replaced by a lame outline of a Bronco. I paid cash for this vehicle and do not appreciate Ford accessing it and making changes without my permission. Hoping Im wrong and HD is not uploading/selling our data, but be aware, its a very lucrative income stream for manufacturers
There are definitely some risks with OTA updates. I wonder if there will be an option to at least manually control when it happens, such as a pop up that says update available and gives an option of install now or wait like happens with the iPhone. When the GT 6.5 radio first came out there were occasionally updates that were a step backwards for sound quality and it was common to wait a week or 2 to do the update just to see exactly what new bugs were popping up. At least back then you could always go back to a previous version of software if there was an issue. I'm not so sure that will be an option if OTA updates are a fully automated push. I haven't tried because there hasn't been a need to but don't think we can go backwards now anyways. I'd at least like to have a say in doing the update at my convenience, sure would suck to have an update hit and skyline is bricked up at a very inconvenient time or location.
Anytime you connect to a Wi-Fi network on the IFCU, you have to agree to them collecting your data. There’s a rather lengthy pop-up that explains this every time.
