Default 13' SG HU upgrade

2013 SG, stock head unit, Hogtunes NCA-70.2 REV Series Amp with Speakers 902.2/REV. I use a Y cable for my iPhone 5s that plugs into stock radio and cigarette lighter…AND…I've been through 2 cheap cables where the lightening adaptor keeps breaking off in my iPhone. I'm not looking to blow out the competition…truly, my current setup is OK…and if I could get slightly better, I'm fine

I did a search and keep seeing great things about Sony DSXS310BTX. I guess the bluetooth feature is what I'm looking for the most…being able to stream music from pandora and my phone's library but I see some conflicting info that leads me to this post.

1. Will the 5s work with this phone in streaming…some are saying u still have to plug in the iPhone and I see some saying you can't plug in the 5s

2. Will the 5s fit in the tray? I believe I saw someone say "no" it won't fit inside….will it keep my 5s charged?

3. Will this HU actually sound better than what i have?

4. There has got to be a better price considering I think I need the biketronics retroradio kit @ $197, a splash cover, and sony harness…..
Amazon.com : Sony DSXS310BTX Bluetooth Digital Media Car Stereo Receiver with Pandora Control : Electronics Amazon.com : Sony DSXS310BTX Bluetooth Digital Media Car Stereo Receiver with Pandora Control : Electronics

5. I keep seeing a Sony DSX-S300BTX …$197 but without pandora control….appears to be the same otherwise

Now that you know I'm not trying to win any sound competition…if you have another unit You'd like to recommend, I'm fine with that….figured I'd just ask about the one I keep seeing in my searches

I had this hu . I have to say not impressed at all the it had trouble connecting to my device. The volume button was a multi button and it was flimsy. It only had 2 colors red and blue. Look into a better hu . just my advice

I am running Alpine HU. I bluetooth it to my 5s which mainly use for Pandora also it's nice feature to have it ring through stereo and display caller throught HU etc. although I don't answer . I have a Ipod Nano I use more so mounted in rt saddle bag via USB. My Alpine unit has rear USB with full controls. I bought 6ft cable off eBay ran it under tank to saddlebag.

The handel bars do control the volume. I guess I should have bee more clear its a multi button it controls most of the hu and it is a joke to set up.you have to do 90% of the controls threw this button.

I've got the Sony 310. It's compatible from a bluetooth standpoint but the Iphone 5 will not fit into the tray. Only the 3 and the 4. I run a USB stick inside the tray and set all my music with MP3gain to 93 db. It's a beautiful thing. I love mine!

Thanks guys…went with Sony MEX-GS810BH …. I opted to not get the tray feature in order to get the better 5Vs of this HU versus the 4V of my original choice. I still have 2 USBs, so it'll meet my needs.

I have no shame Sir! I learn from everybody here. Especially guys like you Nutz, GP and Pioneer. Hell I even learned a thing or two from Eshaw. . .LOL

All jokes aside the credit is all yours my friend. The different volume levels of my music was driving me crazy!
