Well .... I officially started my 6x9 lid speaker collection today. I took a chance on some clearance priced Polk Dxi690's at Crutchfield for $75. Even spent the extra $10 for 3 year replacement warranty. Since it is a marine rated speaker, the rep at Crutchfield said they'd honor warranty for moisture damage. I won't bother with hydrophobic cloth for these. My Kicker 11KS69's sound really good, but what the heck
Is the cone sealed so water cannot come through the middle? I see you can buy a marine grill but not where the speakers themselves are marine. School me, please.

LOL. . . It's only gonna get worse. I have some Rockford Fosgate T1693's and Some JL-C2690x I's be willing to part with cheap. Both are great speakers I just have too dam many.

I "believe" the cone is sealed. I just wonder about durability of silk type tweeters? I take the Harley on trips and don't wanna mess with lid covers, etc when it threatens or does rain. I know a downpour is another matter. Just another Wisconsin winter project along with getting my Sony MEX-M70BT head unit installed, but after my 11" mini apes installed. I spend less when I'm riding! Come on Gann... one set at a time
