I am looking for a nice stereo system for my 2015 SG special. I had j&m speakers and amp on my 2010. But I have been out of the motorcycle game since 2011 do to back surgury. I would like to spend under 800 on a new system. I don't need bag speakers just one up riding most of the time. Clarity and being able to hear the stereo at speeds 80mph are a must. Thanks for any help!
you put together a great set up with 800 bucks ---- check out Biketronics. It will blow past what you previously had and has a lifetime warranty. Do a search here, you'll find tons of great reviews.

the options are overwhelming especially if you have not heard any of these systems.
Also, I'm thinking about putting lowers with speakers on my SG. Better sound? Worth the upgrade?
Bill, I've heard quite a few systems and unless you are putting it together with high end after market parts Hertz, JL Audio, etc. from the list you have up there the Biketronics stuff sounds better than all of that. The only comparison is the Arc Audio Moto Line. The Arc Moto Amp is loud and crystal clear and so are the Moto speakers. Both BT and Arc are pricey but will blow past anything listed above.
Biketronics has a lifetime guarantee on any and all of their products, with stellar customer service in my experience, and their products just flat work as expected. Just saying.
Yeah that's very true. They have a few different options from what I can see. Is there a big difference between the pro and just regular speakers from biketronics? If I am going to do it I want to do it right the first time.

The Pros are awesome speakers as they should be for the price. I have the pros and the 7.1's. The PRO's have the regular 7.1's beat. I'm just not sure they are $300 better. I can switch out the pros with my 7.1's and my system doesn't sound $300 better. Of course it might not be a fair assessment. I have 10 speakers on my bike. You want the PROs or the Moto 602's in your fairing if your looking to do it right the first time. The Moto's are just flat out awesome!!
