I have a 14 Ultra Limited, I'm going to change out the fairing and tour pack speakers, I'm also going to add HD speaker lids ( I will be using V-twin adapters so regular 5X7 speakers will work).
I have got all the wiring harnesses from V-twin.
I was wondering can I run all 6 speakers off a 4 Channel amp?
I'm thinking about a soundstream amp for budget purpose. Any help would be much appreciated.
Yes, you can. You can run four 4 ohm speakers in parallel off of two channels of the Soundstream. Both sets MUST be 4 ohm though, or it will eventually kill your amp. Ask me how I know.
Ok I have purchased 8 2 ohm speaker, do i still need to wire them in Parallel to the 4 Ch Sound stream 4.520.
The speakers are 6.5 Kappas for the fairing and tour pack (2 ohm)
Kappa 5x7 for the bag lids.(I will be using Vtwin adapters) (2 ohm)
and I'm thinking about adding Hogtunes lower adapter kit with speakers and they are 2 ohm.

If your gonna run all of those speakers your gonna need a bigger amp my friend.

If you are going to run 8 speakers off one amp they should (really need) to be 4ohm speakers. Return those. The only way you can wire them and not fry your amp is in series and that creates a 4ohm load. So at 90w at 4ohm per channel with the PN4.520 you are only getting 45w per speaker. Not gonna cut it.
Get yourself 8 4 ohm speakers. Forget about Hogtunes, and instead of that amp get the PN4.1000D. There's plenty of power behind that one to run 8 speakers.
Don't even try to make it work. Return it and you'll be much happier in the long run.
You wont miss a beat running 8 speakers off this amp in parallel. As Haze said forget the hog Tunes. You won't be happy. Purchase all 4 ohm speakers. with the same sensitivity. My suggestion is the Biketronics Titan II speakers in the fairing and lowers. and a set of KSC674 Kickers in the rear pods and a set of Biketronics 6x9's in the lids. All those speakers will run off the SS PN4.1000D wired in parallel and the system will scream. I have a set of Biketronics 6x9's if you need em PM me.
Ok the only Hogtunes product will be the lower adapters. ( 14 ultra is liquid cooled) they are the only ones that I have found that make something to fit in the lowers.
But I run it 95% of the time with the tour pak off the bike..
I may not do anything with the lowers right now. I'll have to look at upgrading the amp to the one above.
I would like to keep the Kappas if I can I like the performance I've got out of them in the past.
Thanks for the info anything else you got I would very much appreciate the recommendations, trying to keep the cost as low as possible
If you're going to run speakers in parallel you MUST use 4 ohm speakers and a 2 ohm compatible amp, or you will be replacing your fried amp sooner than later. If you must keep the Kappa's (which I liked very much personally) look at adding a second amp.
