Looking to upgrade audio system, please chime in on my system component selection for a 2002 FLHT, Batwing fairing Harley.
1. Kenwood KDC-X998 receiver.
2. Titan BT477 6.5" SPEAKERS, two pair, fairing and fairing lowers.
3. Soundstream PN4.1000D or Cerwin vega b4 stealth bomber amp.
4. Also would like to add two 6x9 speakers in the rear saddlebags, open for advice on speaker type, and any other helpful suggestions.
Would also like to know what type of performance this system would provide.

Boy are you on the right track!! My only suggestions for your system is to replace the 6.5 speakers in the fairing with the Biketronics 7.1's. If you are thinking about lids go with the Biketronics 6x9's. If you are placing the 6x9's in your saddle bags. Go with the infinity 693.11i speakers. Use the soundstream PN4.1000D to run it all. Run your fairing and lowers in parallel on the front channel and run the 6x9's on the back channel. From a performance standpoint this system screams!! One of the best systems out there.

I agree - get the 7.1's for the fairing... worth it...
to add bit of tech stuff. amp allows for 4 channels (take the 4.1000D!!!!) and each channel is 2 ohm stable. amp will provide more watts to 2 ohm (250) load than 4 ohm (140)
BT speakers are 4 ohm so putting fairing and lowers parallel, will give 125 ish to each speaker.
as long as you do not run lids, put each speaker on 1 channel (140W). once you put lids in, then simply change the wiring of the speakers.
you preferably want to want 2 ohm 6x9, hence my friend Gannicus suggesting the Infinity's.
But then again using the BT 6x9 (4 ohm) in (Hogtunes) lids is a GREAT option as well...
