If I put the amp on top of the module even slid all the way back to the gauges the fairing hits the amp. Amp on radio and XM turned sidways on top of amp it hits there as its to high up. I'm thinking of trying to mount to the side by the cig lighter, using the overlay harness it will be long enough to get over there.
I'm sure it's something I'm doing, I know many people said it works but for the life of me I can't get the dang thing to go.
I have the same amp and the xm module and it's mounted on top of the hu. It fits.
I'll give it another go Sunday, is your amp on top of hu or XM on top of hu with amp on top of it? I have both the XM and CB module so I can go either way, but CB is not needed as I don't use it.

There is a bracket made that mounts under the HU that holds the XM and CB.
I am running the stock HU with the XM and IPod module along with an amp. I ended up installing the modules UNDER the HU with the amp on top. A couple of items to remember however, get yourself some very large plumbing tie wraps and cinch the completed assembley as tight as possible. Second MAKE absolutely sure that the HU brackets are tight. Don't shortcut it, but actually check every bolt to make sure.
Lastly, I wish I would have saved the money and went with an aftermarket HU. After having my HU rebuilt because the board broke ( they told me that it was one of the worst they had seen) I have way too much in a system that I think could have been even better sounding for less with more capabilities. ( my bracket on the right side (facing the radio from the front with the clam shell off) was looser then hell). I also originally had issues getting the clam shell back on until I moved the two add on components (XM/iPod) to the bottom. Hope this helps.

My amp is on top of the HU and the XM module on top of that.
