Digging for a radio with an audio output with out spending 3-5 hundred bucks has been a challenge. Now this is 300 or so but can be had for 220 or so on the net.
Anyone know any pros or cons about Cycle Sounds or this radio called Rock Box
Kinda short on tech specs details, Watts RMS, amped? Speaker Specs? youll need some kind of adapter for them. Also states Power Pucks not for 14 and up models, and out of stock atm.Looks small fit in that big rubber bezel mout. For that much money there are other options. You say audio output, It says not intended for headphones.
If I'm going to upgrade the sound system, I'd want satellite capability.
You can add xm to pretty much any aftermarket hu for around $40. Gann just posted a Sony hu for around $130. Add the Metra kit and ASWC1 you should be around $250.
looks like a generic 'marine' stereo. you could do a aftermarket HU from Sony/jvc/kenwood/pioneer/etc with a XM antenna for about $300 if you shop carefully.
Most of the cycle sound stuff is rebranded so try and find some more about the product and I bet u can find it for half the cost elsewhere with the birth parents name on it.
I just built a T400x4AD with RF component 6.75" in the front, 6.5" in the lowers, and 5.25 in the rear. Connected to the HU to the rear and run the tweeters with the bi-amp setting for the tweeters ,from the front (no amp). Then tuned the gains using the set up disk from RF on 40Hz/0dB, 400kHz/0dB, 1kHz/0dB, and 4kHz/0dB playing Tupac for the low and G-N-R for the highs. Finding the balance for both styles of music to set the max volume I will expect to play. Neighbors called the cops on me with the garage door closed! Good luck.
What I'm trying to do is connect in ear headphones or earbuds if you will.
As a rule I wear a half helmet and the docs got my attention years ago about wear earplugs while riding. Now in town and traffic I pop one out so I can listen also.
I cover some miles on I20 here in Texas.
Finding a radio (not real expensive) has proven to be a real chore. Matter of fact I haven't found one. Including this one tho in a conversation with Cycle Sounds Yoy can connect headphones or earbuds as long as they are rated at 64ohms inpedance or higher.
I trying to ck on the idea of connecting earbuds to the RCA cable outputs on radio rated at 1-2v output at the preamp out ( the RCA plugs)
Suggestions and idea's to accomplish this is appreciated.
Thank You WP David
Dang forgot mention this is my ol EVO 1997 FLHT Standard
