If I connect to these wires behind the head unit. I cut those wires, attach the input from the amp to the HU side. Then attach the output from the amp to the other end going to the speakers. Can I use blade style clips or do I need to solder. I'm fairly proficient in using a soldering iron, etc. Just want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I cut any wires.
Does anyone know which color (or #) are the + or - on those wires?
You are correct, just go back on the harness a few inches or more so its easier to work with and if you ever wanted to go back to stock it will make it easier. Solder or crimp style blades ? I've used both and had no issues with either.
Will check tonight when I get home on wire color and #'s and report back if someone hasn't already clarified by then.
If you were to run new wires you could install the new wires into the factory plugs and keep it simple. If you have a service manual it will explain how to release wires from the various connectors used on the bikes

That's it. If you pull the 35 pin plug on back of radio you will see the pins are numbered. Your looking for pin 1&2 and 24&25. Colors as buddas picture shows green, brown, green/brown and brown/white.
