Ok, probably a stupid question because no one is running one but...Could an equalizer be run between a Rushmore HU and amp instead of or after line levelers? My front HU output sounds like shix and I am running everything off the rear through a LL then split into both inputs of a bt4180(I still use front and rear output out of the amp just no fade). It's the only way I can get my front and rear to sound the same. I tried swapping front and rear and just having fade be backwards but then I might as well just not run my rear pods at all it sounds that bad(and yes everything is in phase). BabyBoy recommended I try adjusting the front HPF LL as he had a similar problem and I have yet to pop my hood and give it a try but it got me thinking about why no one uses an EQ?
It might be that using an EQ in real time is impossible if it is in the tour pack or not mounted in the dash or on the bars. You could "set it and forget it" but that's is more theory than practice. I've never been a fan of dash mounted EQ's when I was big into car stereo. I always preferred a pre-amp (Linear Power and Rockford Fosgate had nice ones) but those are probably not as useful in a smaller set up on a bike.
What kind of noise/distortion problem are you having with the front speaker output? Could be a grounding issue...a ground loop or the need for a ground loop (Really, this happens)

So when u say "sounds like shix" what exactly are u hearing that is so different in 2 identical sets of speakers? Hollow, bright, muddy?
First, consider the enclosures these speaks are mounted in. Night and day difference from pod to fairing. Have u put dynomat on the outer fairing? Ever consider FAST Rings? LL Gains? LL HPF?
If u can break the code on the EQ, that would be huge!!! Ur gonna have to cut HD wires so take ur time thinking this thru. It has been on my list for a long damn time but got things dialed in pretty good without one so it went to the bottom of the long list.

Not distortion its lack of freq, it's the HU not the wiring. Sounds like a polarity issue but it's not BT is aware of the problem, has same problem on their test HU. Swap HU output from front to rear and it moves to the rear without any aftermarket anything attached either. And it would be set and forget once set correct, we don't play with the LL once they are set.

T.
No T, it makes either the front or rear sound hollow and muddy what ever I have hooked up to the front side HU. Hook up the front to the rear output sounds great. Might have time to play with the LL this afternoon now that the thrill of backing up all over town is goneđ

Thought I had a bad HU. Bought it cheap(er) second hand when I upgraded from the 4.3 that came with my bike, so no warrantee. Then I read that BT and some others had a problem too.
Look into the JL cleensweep. It is discontinued but still out there. Would replace the line levers though. Honestly I would not get to big of a hurry looking into a dsp or eq as something doesn't sound right from your description. http://www.jlaudio.com/cl441dsp-car-...egration-98110

Yea, somethings wrong. In going to try the HPF on the LL, not going EQ. I was just wondering why the big dogs aren't using them.
Ok, thanks to BabyBoy's suggestion I was able to equal the front Chanel to the rear with the HPF and the tweeter adjustment on the focal KRC's crossover. I turned the HPF ccwise about 1/8 then had to raise the tweeter from -6 to 0 and raise the gain from 12 o'clock to 12:30-12:45? On just the front LL, now it's very very close(to my ears at least) no fancy meters, no voltage testing, just my crappy old ears. It actually took the bright that I had at highway speed down a notch. Maybe I'm learning something or maybe I made things worst to others ears but now I have a fade function back for nothing else then to be able to test different speakers front to rear.
