Speaker question/help needed
Would replacing the front and/or rears with the Hertz hcx 165 (or whatever may be recommended to match the amp) merit me anything?
The amp comes in preset with the bypass switch set to full for high and low. I've since set them to full and adjusted gains down and crossover points for a much better sound but I'm still wanting a little more of a "full" sound. I know bass is unrealistic without bag lids or sub but again I would think I could gain a little more low/mid with better speakers, not that focal speakers aren't great.
Here's how I have the amp set so any suggestions would be appreciated on the settings
Thanks

If you set the amp to "Full" the crossover adjustments do nothing. If you want to adjust the crossovers, you need to do so on "Low" or "High" ("Low" is for subs). I have my crossovers set on "High" and at about 90/100 Hz. I have no issue with the quality of sound, just the loudness.
Turning the gain down only reduces the voltage coming out, if gain was set with a DMM (in your case with a 600.4) to 24.5 volts then your set for the max for that amp.
The best thing I've done to help fill the sound was to use sound deadening material around my pods, not sure how you have the speakers mounted in your fairing but there a several threads to help with the best setups for batwings in terms of mounts and pods (or lack thereof).
So with regard to your amps and speakers and changing out speakers. My thoughts (and possibly these guys with more time on ultras and this speaker config know better). I found the Focal KRC 165 (previous version of what you have) were the best sounding speakers with that amp. Better than Hertz HCX165 or Arc Moto 602's. The Focals probably had the least amount of low end bass, but it was a smoother response and the clarity was far superior. The Hertz were middle of the pack in all areas, and the Moto's while they hit hardest were the least loudest and least sound quality.
I also think of all the popular amps out there the Arc line has the best clarity but is the least "warm". So if you combine that sound with the focal speakers you get a not so warm sound with great sound quality. What fixes that is a good headunit you can EQ...not an option here. Are you looking for more bass from the front, rear, in general, etc? You may benefit from different speakers in the back to fill out the low end, but really I think you will enjoy that sound most when parked. You won't hear the added bass at speeds.
You could try swapping out amps, but that may be just tossing money at it. The new Diamond Audio amp from my understanding is comparable in output but with a richer sound.

I appreciate the response. Which diamond audio amp are you referring to?

I haven't personally heard it, but if it's a louder version of the micro4 diamond it should be a little warmer sounding than the Arc.
