Lowers lose sound at 50-60 just as bad. Neither are your prominent sound source. Always focus on fairing first, then add. I can hear my bag lids at 80 just not near as pronounced. The right speaker and correct power, bag lids seem to be much better than lowers, plus no heat issues to boot. My .02¢
with all the trouble I've had with my faring speakers(loose one on every long trip) my lowers have saved my trips more times than I care to remember I can fade to the Rear channel\lowers and still have just as good of sound as one set speakers in the faring.. I wont go out of town again with out all 4 speakers that way if I have any issue I can just fade to top or bottom...
I belive that guys with road kings will really benefit with a set of lowers only
