Default Speakers

I'm fixing up my boyfriends 2004 Road Glide after a deer incident. I'm doing this while he's offshore working, as a surprise, and I need some speaker advice. I bought the hogtunes set with the amp because it said it was compatible with his bike, but the speakers are 5x7 and larger than factory. What can I do to make these work? Is it possible? Are adapters available? This set is what he wanted before when we were looking at them and I really want to make them work. Thanks in advance!

The 5x7's are for saddlebag lids, are you trying to fit them in the fairing?

I believe the stock size fairing speakers for a 04 RG are 5.25, they make adapter to fit 6.5 speakers for the fairing.

Do you know which Hogtunes kit you bought? The part number, I'm sure we can get you fixed up with a little more info.

I'm not one of the audio wizards here but I would call Hogtunes & ask them.

The roadglides can accept a 5x7 speaker in the fairing, hogtunes have an adapter for them

I bought:

Hogtunes REV 200 3572-AA Front Speaker & Amp Kit 1998-2013 Harley-Davidson Road Glide

I thought about the saddle bag thing, but it does say FRONT speaker kit. I'm having a blast fixing up his bike but this speaker thing has me bummed.

Hey Megan,

The stock Roadglide comes with an adapter that allows a 5.25" round speakers to fit in a 5x7 location.

This adapter has 3 screws, remove those screws and then pull the factory adapters and grills out.

The hogtunes 5x7 speakers and grills will go back in place of the HD adapters and grills.

Pay particular attention to steps 4,5,6 of the instructions sent with that kit

Here are the Hogtunes installation videos. Click on the model number for speakers in question. That particular video has no audio.
