Yep, on the band wagon as I type for upgrades.....I'm completely satisfied with what i have for front sound, but the passenger doesn't hear everything i do as the passenger gets all the wind noise and sound is very limited in the rear even with just speaker lids. So you keep going till that is resolved! So basically you keep going bigger more sound quality, etc...But i've learned a lot from here and research, it takes the right components to make a good sound system but it is costly also...Like every other venture, costs $$$$$ how fast you want to go, how much sound do you want, how big of a garage do you want, lol

But I'm seeing it really is just for the rider/passenger. Excellent!
There are the bikes with the over the top systems that are built to compete in audio competitions. I am building one now. Most of these bikes compete in numerous categories such as best build with big wheels, outrageous motor upgrades, custom body work, and off the chain paint work. So naturally they also want to show off in the audio categories. Then you have the guys that do it with their everyday rider and give up the storage room. Thiese guys are audiophiles and are ok with the storage loss. One thing is for certain, without this bike audio progression, I wouldn't have a 4 speaker, 2 horn, 2 amp system that is more than enough in volume and SQ that does not givie up any dry storage space. The experts and their strive for bigger, more, and better have opened the door for the stock holes filled systems that are beyond being just ok, and now it's loud enough to overcome the wind and traffic noise, while offering great sound quality too.

Plus we all have that (or most of us) little part that says, I know I can get a little more outta this. Or the internal competitiveness that says I can build a better system than he can, for less money!!!

I have been pretty adamant about not losing bag space. However, I decided to make the leap to 6x9's in the rear bags. While this will cost me some space I am going to be cramming the second amp under the fairing so as to minimize the loss of space.
