Hi, I have a 2010 Ultra Limited with the stock HK head unit and OEM speakers that came with it. I was considering replacing the OEM speakers with J&M brand speakers. I am not adding an amp. Would the J&Ms make a significant enough improvement over OEM to justify the $220 price tag to replace all four ?

Does you no good to add any speakers without an amp.

I do not agree at all that you would not hear a difference, of course you would.
I would try 2 sets of 2ohm Infinity speakers at that price point.
You should not overtax the factory headunit. Check with Tailwind first.
Replacing the factory speakers is a great start.
Waste of time and money bro. There are no 2 ohm speakers that are going to sound better than the stock speakers using the stock HU with no amp. This bike is a 2010 Ultra.
There are a handful of guys on here that can point you in the right direction based on your goals/budget and the ton of experience they bring to the table. Petey is not one of them. Want a good laugh? - Ask him how many installs he's done, what his favorite combination is to install on his buddies' bikes and how many different setups he has personally tried.
Of course an aftermarket 6.5 will sound better than the stock 5.25 sitting still. BUT, as one of the most knowledgeable guys on here (Gannicus) has already told you, it's not worth it at any speed. Speakers are a complete waste of money without an amp.
Tailwind is a knowledgeable guy on here as well and for some reason Petey sees the need to brown nose him at every opportunity. T will tell you the exact same thing as Gann - not worth a damn without an amp.

with the holiday sales events approaching fast, watch for deals on a Cerwin Vega B54 amp to go along with those Kappa Infinity speakers, and make sure you get the 6.5" speakers, adapters and we will tell you the rest of the inexpensive odds n ends if you choose this path. Easy install you can do yourself
