Forgot to mention
On the Rushmore bikes you will also need the Biketronics BT355 Lineleveler and I would recommend removing the fairing speaker pods and installing the Biketronics brackets.

On the 13 and down I would recommend replacing the stock head unit with either the Kenwood 765bt or a Sony mex 71 or possibly an aquatic
Not sure what you suggested about the linelevler and speaker pods but i will research and look into it Thanks

The Rushmore stereos have a built in sound processor to make the crappy boom speakers sound good by boosting certain frequencies and when you add an amplifier with aftermarket speakers the boosting of frequencies are not needed.
The easiest way to flatten the signals to the amp is by adding the BIKETRONICS BT355 between the stereo and the amp.

The pod eliminator brackets are not necessary but it widens the varity of speakers that you can use and helps with not restricting the lower frequencies as much as using the stock speaker pods in the fairing.

Thanks alot man. Have a better understanding now. Once adding amp and speaker set up I have read that a radio "reflash" is required to be done by the dealer. I have also read that there are some amp on the market that if installed radio wont need the reflash. So far thing i will go with the Polk MM652 (6.5) and the Polk 692 (6x9) cause they are marine grade still deciding on the amp. Some amps dont come with the mount plate/bracket and some do still researching all that at the moment

With the radio installed on the SGS a reflash is required when installing aftermarket amps and i think speakers from what i have read it has something to do with the set up and adjusting the radio so that it will fucntion properly with the set up installed but still doing research on that. On the Wild Boar by Hog Tunes it states
  • Note: May require a OEM or Techno Research dealer radio software “re-flash”
  • Again this is just on a few amps i researched there was another one i looked at the had the same note.

That was a previous model, I don't think there have been issues with the 652 and 692.
