I have a 2015 street glide with the 4.3 head unit. It isn't very reliable anymore. It only works when it wants to and it's quite sporadic. I want to ditch it for the sony xav-ax100 but I'm hesitant because it isn't waterproof, I do ride in the rain if I have to. I'm not crazy about shelling out a grand for a used 6.5. Im at a loss. What should I do?
I had the 4.3 and went with the sony. I like it and it is easier to make it sound good. There is a water cover for them now that they are selling. It was a easy install.
Fmfpj, where did you get the rain cover for your Sony? Have you had it in a downpour? It appears that the consensus is leaning toward the 6.5. I'd like to hear more from people that have the sony.

I just finished install this past week, waiting on speakers. Have not had it out in the rain as of yet. Garage Bagger stereo has a rain cover for it. I believe Bad AZZ Bikes has them too.
It does every thing I need it to and plays well with the combo of speakers and amps that I have.
so are we of a general opinion that this unit can handle the rain?? the video was cool, but some real world road use input would help a lot, thanks.
