There is nothing inside a 4180 that would change the settings of a DSP! I have used the Kenwood 998 with a built in DSP and the 4180 does not change any setting! The 4180 has a filter not allowing any frequencies below 45 Hz, which you won't use anyway with 6.5's and 6x9's, and no gains for voltage adjustment! These are the only limiting factor that the 4180 has. If you do not like the Titan II's in your fairing just replace those first, unless you really want to change your whole set up! Gan's recommended set up with JL, AW, and B3 horns is a good place to start, but I would use the JL 600/6, bridging the front 4 channels 1-2 & 3-4 for the fairing and using 5-6 for your rear platform!
Actually I was hoping to not have to replace the amp and just replace the speakers but have found the amp may limit me somewhat. I wasn't sure about the whole dsp & 4180 post I had seen so thanks for clearing that up. The one shop I had talked to recommended Hertz mid and horns in front Hertz rears and 2 diamond micro 4v2 to power it all (I don't remember the models). I don't have a local shop that sells Hertz so haven't been able to hear them to see if it's even close to what I want and I can watch videos forever but every video of the same damn speakers sounds different and half the guys post videos with no details. I do have a local shop that sells DD and he's gonna try and get a customer to stop in so I can hear his bike.
Any idea how the AW's hold up to weather? I see DD doesn't list them as marine grade like they do their others
. The Titan II speakers and the AW's are night and day. I've had em both in my fairing with multiple amps. The Titan II speakers are no where NEAR the quality of the AW's. Neither speaker gets very loud but the AW with the B3 horns bridged to the JL is pretty impressive for a two speaker set up. As I said in my earlier post your Achilles heal is the amp. Speakers are easy. Getting the right amp to match the speakers is the challenge. The AW's hold up in weather well.

I ride a 2016 road glide ultra and currently have bt4180 powering titan-2 6.5's in front and alpine spr-60 6.5's in the rear. It sounds good and is loud but I just feel it's not all it can be. Personally I think the alpines sound better than the titan-2. I've been looking at different options for other speakers DD, Hertz, Mmats. I was thinking DD vo-m6.5 and vo-b3 up front but haven't found any info on what if any DD fit in tour pack pods. Then I watch the videos with hertz setup and they sounds damn good. So I'm still not sure on speaker choice. So now I'm looking for some guidance and/or opinions. Should I be looking at other options? Is my bt4180 going to be sufficient or limit me? I know alot of the guys are pushing 3-400 watts to the hertz. I'm trying to do this one last time and not waste anymore money. Thanks in advance for any help.
I have had excellent results with Hog Tunes out of Barre Ontario.
My ex-wife is a monster as well but that has nothing to do with regular joe sled audio. Pushing a brand you sell and use without any other details such as the strategy behind using said product is useless to the OP. Especially when those products are well over the OP's budget. I have no idea who Louie Bailey is as I'm sure most here don't. The overwhelming majority here is not into the competition scene. If I had to guess I'd say he's probably a pretty good fella but he'll have to provide more info on his suggestions because the average Joe is gonna want to know why he should go that route. New ideas and new ways of looking at build strategies are always welcome here. Pushing the envelope is always a good thing but acting like your all that and a biscuit doesn't bode well here.
Wow!! I didn't know I acted like all that? lol. I gave an opinion on what I would use period.. I could talk details and specs until your eyes bleed. Another fact, we setup all of our customers bikes to be loud and clear and 90mph. Not just in audio competitions which we also have 2 of the loudest in the country. I don't push certain brands. I really don't care what you use. If you want it loud, and better than all your friends I am the guy to talk to. I am not selling anything here. Simply an opinion that you know nothing about since you said that its out of the OPs budget. If you want to give us a call we can discuss audio I welcome it. Maybe you can teach me a thing or two? Hell what do I know?
I was being friendly. I appreciate the insight from a different perspective. I was merely pointing out that most folks here don't have a clue who Louie is.
But what the hell do I know.
