Default Batwing vs Sharknose fairing setup

I currently have a 2011 Limited with the batwing fairing but, just put money down on an 18 Roadglide special with the Sharknose fairing and was wondering if there is setup differences between the two. Not so much speaker makes or Pa vs SQ but, where to mount and how to produce a better sound towards the rider.

Thanks

I have a 17 RGS and the fairing speaker are slightly pointed up. So depending on your head position it is hard to get them perfect. I've had to up the volume a bit on my fronts because of that.
but again I have a chopped seat currently which puts me 2inish lower.

Also depending on the tweeter size. Installing can be tricky. I have the small dd28 currently and could fit them in front of my mids in the grill.
if ya have horns those I have seen in front of the bars in the fairing. Just below the headunit.

Thanks, that leads to my point, the fairing is not facing the rider like the batwing so is the setup different and are there options to put speakers in different parts of the fairing to get a fuller sound out of the front end. (the other compartments or inward facing the frame)

There are some fairly well proven options now.

Option 1 - Upgraded coax or components in the stock fairing location. If you can swing the components go that route with the mid-driver in the normal mounting spot for the stock 6.5" speakers and install the tweeters in the appropriate spot on the grills.

Option 2 - Same as above but add lowers with speaker pods and another set of 6.5" speakers to round out the system. If you're looking strictly for your listening enjoyment I wouldn't personally spend any time or money putting speakers anywhere else.

Depending on which option you choose, will point you in the direction of what AMP would be a good choice. The primary problem all of us RG owners have is that the speakers are much further away than on a SG, and it takes plenty of power to push the volume through the noise so that it reaches the rider and passenger. I have to emphasize, there isn't any way to get the results you need without a good AMP and aftermarket speaker(s) solution. Power is the key..................

If i had a road glide, id do the 8" pod replacement that Insane Asylum does. It does however give up the glove boxes.
EDITED.

Thanks,

I Currently have a good set up on my Limited with DDAW/ATs in the fairing and Beymas in my lowers. I am happy with the sound but, I know that with the fairing sitting further away I might need to look at something else to provide the volume I am accustom to. With that said, there is a lot more Fairing space to put speakers, are there places to put horns or tweets that or another set of 6.5s in the faring or should I stick with the normal places for them. Also, what set up should I look at doing with the speaker pods with in the fairing?
