Default System ReConfiguration

Ok,
I began the process of reconfiguring my system today. Took the horns out of the gauge holes and modded some speaker grills to set the horns in the center. Did this cause I wanted my oil pressure guage back. Since I'm m having such good luck with the Soundigital amp running then tens in the bags, I decided to put one of the 800.4 D's up front. Also since I was feeling so industrious, I threw a Sd250 Nano up front also to run the horns. Wrapped up for the night, cause i'I tired. I'll go back tomorrow and run the wires to the to pods and wire them up to the 800 and tune it up. I hope it sounds as good as I'm hoping!!! More tomorrow.

Default some pix of the grill work

here's some pix of the grill stuff if anyone is interested. hogtunes grills with the raised center section, mocked them up and still have plenty of cone clearance with the DD B3.

Looks like a good idea Marco. You got any pics of the inside with those amps mounted? I'm always interested in install pics to get ideas. I've got rub marks on the Noico sound deadening material from my PN4.1000d, not much room left for me to play with the way I have it set now.

Course that may be because I 've got everything short of a Realistic quadrophonic receiver in there...

ok, all buttoned up tonight!! All Soundigital Amps, SD250.2 for horns, SD800.4 for 6.5's and SD2000.1 for 10's in the bags.DD Dsi-2 and Kenwood HU, 3 batteries.
I actually think that i might be done, heaven forbid. Got a decent tune on it,now got to road test and see. I think that I might downsize the batteries, got to do some more amp draw testing to make the final call, but It's finally looking like i'm there. Man if you've got a DSP, these SD amps rock, long term road test to confirm in the near future!!

Hey Marco I thought I read somewhere that some of the SoundDigital circuitry is similar to SoundStream. Do you know if that is true? The SD800.4 seems to have the same power ratings at four ohms as the SS PN4.1000d but is a different footprint. The SS seems to be thinner which allowed it to fit with my stock head unit in my 2010.

Soundigital amps are a half bridge design I believe the the SS PN amp are full bridge. Korea vs Brazil

When you say half bridge do you mean their power supply? If that is the case the SS amp would be more efficient. When I worked in electronics years ago if anyone was designing a circuit and wanted it to be as clean as possible they always went with a full bridge rectifier circuit if I remember correctly.

Just curious I've long ago forgotten most of that stuff.

I was researching the SD amps and read that they are half bridge design. I googled it and read until my head spun. I basically understood that the half bridge uses fewer components therefore are easier to design and cheaper.

they could be the Brooklyn Bridge for all i care, these things are SLAMMIN!! I got to ride it home from the shop, and oh my god! Once i can get some more time to tune with since I now know what i need to adjust, i should be VERY Happy! Just so you guys know, they due offer the Evo Line in a marine rated version also. The reps were in my place today and assured me that the Marine line has the same performance as the Evo line.

That's why I was curious as to the relationship with the SS designs. I am still amazed at the sound I get out of that $150 PN4.1000d. It also has very sophisticated protection circuitry that will shut the amp down if you get too crazy with the gains to protect your speakers. It also never gets hot no matter how hard I crank it.

Things have come a long way from the Alphasonik amps from when I was younger.
