Default Street glide stereo guidance needed

I have a 12 street glide that I'm replacing the head unit, fairing speakers, and adding a amp.
head unit is a alpine cde-hd149bt
amp is a arc audio xdi 600.4 ( future plans of bag lid speakers)
what would be the best speakers matched to these other components?
Which 6.5s for fairing?
Which6x9 for lids (eventually)?
is there a interface to keep the hand controls working?
do I need a amp rack? If so which one is best??
thanks!

I can't give you much good advice on a start to finish build but I am curious about your amp choice. What is the difference between the Arc Audio xdi 600.4 amp:
ARC AUDIO XDi 600.4

And the Arc Moto 600.4 unit:
MOTO 600.4

Is size and price the main difference? The Moto is definitely smaller. Since your bike is a 2012 model the length front to back may be something to look at carefully. Hopefully someone who has used that amp in a pre-Rushmore bike can give details on fitment.

I have heard that with the aftermarket head unit you gain some room under the hood of the pre-Rushmore bikes. I think some folks sort of angle large amps down to avoid hitting the fairing cap. I believe I have even seen amp trays that have that slope you can purchase.

Maybe SBates will chime in I believe he put a large footprint amp in his bike with one of those trays. I bet it will fit I just don't know the details.

Ive got a jl 600/6 in my fairing on a BaddAssBikes amp tray with a single din aftermarket hu, so the tray does make good use of available room

You will need plenty of room for that supersized JL

Any recommendations on fairing speakers that will go good with the arc xdi amp?
