Good deal. A buddy was installing his system at my place yesterday, and it was kicking his ***. I was working on my system at the same time, and had to keep putting mine on hold to give him a hand, lol. He was beat mentally and physically. I finally had to help him button it all up. He rode off into the darkness with a grin from ear to ear, and tunes just a rockin.
Got back to mine around 9:00pm. Pulled out the the SS amp and the RF PBR, and the Kappa's. Tossed in some new speaker grills, the WDX6 G2's, the Stinger, the NVX Vadm4 for the speaker lids going in latter. Wired it all up including the Mmats I already had in the lowers and everything was going awesome until I turned it on. One of my lowers wasn't working. So there I was a midnight trying to figure out what the heck was going on. Almost gave up, but managed to trace it down to one of the brand new RCA Y splitter cables I installed. Did a little test and tune at 1:00 am, but it was way louder than I'm sure my neighbors were going to like. Back at it after lunch today. Still have to run an amp into my tour pack and done. Hopefully I can find another Y splitter cable somewhere today.
Sometimes it pays to step away and start with a clear head in the morning.

So o finally got the lower speakers installed...no screwdrivers though anything. It looks like crap, I think I need to use the half inch spacer to allow for a better fitment. I also ordered a 1 inch spacer for the 8s, hoping it will keep from shave the latch mechanism.

I kinda like the look, unique, aggressive. I think black screws will finish it off very nicely.

The problem is that one side sits about a 1/2 higher than the other, because the grill is just slightly bigger than the hole

I have Hertz SPL in my lowers and I also needed a half inch spacer. Mine needed to be inverted to clear though, due to the terminals. I think it looks good. Black screws though.

With a 1/2” spacer you should be able to use standard grills.

My grills with my old speakers and my new Mmats were way too big, but I was able to install JL audio grills. Required some filing to the outside to decrease the outer diameter enough to countersink them in the lowers. No spacer required.

I have a black paint marker enroute to color the screws. I really like the look of the grills, and I bought the same ones for my 8s. I think it will look sharp. I never realized how hard it was for me to find #8 screws in black at my local Home Depot. I'm hoping the 1" spacer on the 8s keeps me from shaving the inside of the bags.
