Went last year for the first time. Actually went the weekend before and left the Sunday of the week it started. I recommend if you want to enjoy the rides go at least Wednesday-Thursday before the starting weekend or be prepared to get an early start. It gets crowded the closer to the actual week and I have heard it is bike to bike on Iron Mountain Rd. during the week.
Yup Agreed.
3 for sure rides. Needles Highway. Iron Mtn Road are musts.
Then take interstate and jump over to Devils Tower. Rock is kewl, but then take the back way to BelleFouche. You will end up getiing to a place called the Stonehouse along the route. Very kewl stop with some history to go with it about the large Bonanza farms back in the day. They have great food and cold drinks and usually a band playing.
Other than those 3 ANYTHING in the hills is a beautiful ride:0)
I will be there with the misses and some friends in the mobile townhouse. Good times for sure if you can make it. I dont usually ride too much during the rally. I live close enough that I can be in Sturgis from my driveway in just a few hours. The boys and usually go down for riding Labor Day weekend.
Yes sir. We will have a Forum group up there ripping ears off!! Lol. Well they will be ripping ears off!!!
Let me know when ur going and we will try and grab 10 beers. We are going the week early and rolling out just as the official Rally kicks off. The riding during the official rally week sucks unless ur into 30 mph below posted speeds.
I think Bates, Denton, Juice, Gypsye, Gann, and a few others are in the initial posse with about 30 total including the dragons and other friends. Fun damn group.
I have family from that region so am up there quite a bit. Let me know if u need anything.
Keep me posted.
See u in DFW for a planning session long before then!!
I will be up there this year also. This will be my 3rd year in a row. Every year we try and get people to come with but most don't end up doing it. Its more than worth the ride just for the views.
First time, rolling out from N Side of Houston
to Denver for 2 nights then up to Sturgis. About the same plan as Tailwind, roll in a week early, roll out when it starts.
