I've done a few of my own ssystems cars and motorcycles over the last 10 15 years. Just basic stuff.
I never knew what the gain was for..but it always worked out.
I have the best system I've ever had in my bike now...for me...its amazing
Sony ax7000
Sd evo s 800.4. 4ohm
6.5 hertz millie pro 165.3 in fairing
Diamond audio ms69cx in lids
The sound is very good and loud. but I want to make sure its right...or close
My questions... do most people bother to set the amp with a multi meter or even more ? If not how do you adjust ?
in terms of setting the gain using the ohms law am I looking to get the peak or RMS of the speakers?
what is a good max volume for the Sony 7000 without distortion?
then looking at crossover setting on the amp... running everything on high pass, should I set the crossover to the lowest value based on the speakers specifications?
Any input with settings would be appreciated. Thanks !!

I had to set the gains on my amp. You do use a multi meter to set them. I set mine at a little over 21 on the AC.
I have the 5000 but my son has the 7000. We were told to set the gains at 22 but we noticed the amp was trying to protect itself so we backed it down to just over 21. Also make sure you have the bike running when you set your gains.

your saying you set you gain with the head unit volume on 21? Or 21 on the multi meater ? Sorry for my ignorance haha
