I have a 20 RG limited. It has the stock GTS head unit. Running a Rockford DSR. One SD amp 800.4 EVO 2 ohm running 4 red baskets. That one is fine no issues or clipping. The 2nd amp is the new 800.4 EVOX 4 ohm. It is running a set of tweeters and a set of DA 6x9's 4 ohm (MS69CX). The EVOX is wired standard 4 channel for 132 watts RMS.
The issue is, the EVOX gain is set about 1/4. At half volume on the head unit the 6x9's clip. Also tried the gain at 1/2 and clipping is still present. Does the stock GTS radio need to be flashed a special way?
Issues it could be?
Head unit flash
Bad RCA
Bad DSP
Clipping is usually due to gains too high or lack of power or ground.
How did you set your gains? Did you meter the output? Whats your battery voltage?
Set the gains by ear and backed off a tad. I know its not proper. Did not meter the output. The 800.4 EVO 2 ohm on the 4 red baskets does not clip whatsoever. The gain is right above 1/2 on that one.
Followed same process for the EVOX 4 ohm. Ground ran to battery. volts are around 13 when we start testing.
I'll look up the process to meter the output.
What is the input source sensitivity setting on the DSR?
What speaker configuration on the DSR did you select?
What are the crossover settings on the 6x9's?

Right now I'm not sure. Its at my friends house. What should it be?
Also, what should the VRMS be on a stock GTS radio?
No idea what the voltage rating on the stock GTS radio is. The DSR gives you options starting at .5 Vrms all the way to 4+ in .5 Vrms increments. If your setting is maxed, you could try to back it off. May not be the issue since the problem started with the second amp, but it's something easy to try.
The reason I asked about cross over setting on the 6x9's is I wonder if you are hearing clipping or distortion. Specs say they will play as low as 45Hz. If you have them crossed that low, I would try raising them up to 80 or 100Hz and seeing what happens.

There is a sticky note at the top of the audio page that will help with setting gains with a meter.
